  7. The EXB-8505, designed to meet the demand for smaller form factors, is
  8. packaged in the 5.25 inch half height form factor.  With IDRC hardware data
  9. compression, the EXB-8505's 5.0 gigabyte uncompressed capacity and data
  10. transfer rate of 500 kilobytes per second improve to 10.0 gigabytes and one
  11. megabyte per second, respectively (assuming 2:1 compression ratio).
  12. Additional performance enhancements include high speed search exceeding 37.5
  13. megabytes per second and a one megabyte buffer.  Other features include:
  14. SCSI-2 compatibility, bit error rate of 10-17, MTBF of 80,000 hours,
  15. multi-host support, time-to-clean LED indication and full read/write
  16. compatibility with the EXB-8500.
